Idea Development
Your first task will be to come up with a suitable story idea. The idea must be something that you can recreate on a digital storyboard. Your idea should clearly indicate genre and should aim to create meaning and to provoke an emotional response from the audience. Your final idea should be chosen through a process of elimination from a range of ideas that you have developed. Please aim for at least 3 ideas.
Once you have 3 ideas then look at them once again and decide what is good and what is bad about each of them. This should help you in making your choice about which idea to proceed with. Do not proceed without agreement from Mr Black!
For each idea please complete the following:
(Write a paragraph on each - no more than a side in total for each please.)
Title of Film:
Genre:
Plot:
Context:
Place your storyboard in the context of your film story. In other words where does it fit in?
Aims:
What do you want to achieve through your storyboard?
What emotional response are you hoping to provoke in your audience?
How do you want to portray your characters?
Use of Micro Features:
(Write a brief overview of each of the micro features you are featuring in your storyboard)
Mise-en-scene
Performance
Cinematography
Sound
Editing
Pros & Cons of this Idea
Be honest here and make a list of all that is good and bad about your idea. Maybe it's too simple. Does it create any emotion? Will the mis-en-scene be too difficult to create? Ask yourself questions like this. Remember you have to create this storyboard so you must be confident that you can make it and you can achieve your goals!
