Pace of the Action
The pace of editing in film will result in different experiences for the audience.
Cutting rapidly between shots will aim to create excitement as in a fight scene or a chase.
However a sequence with slower paced cuts (much more time between each cut) is usually more suited to a romantic scene.
When analysing editing you must decide on the pace of the edit before asking yourself why this technique was employed.
The love scene could well be edited in a faster paced style. If it is you must then ask yourself why? Maybe it was for comic effect!!
