Before you begin the process of choosing a film sequence, please make sure you know and understand each of the micro features.

- Choose a film that genuinely interests you.
- Don’t try to impress by choosing something arty that bores you witless...
- Make sure something happens in your sequence. For example: build up of tension, a chase scene, excitement, scares or an emotional moment.
- Make sure that the micro elements you have chosen are clearly evident in your sequence
- Ideally the sequence should be ‘self-contained’ and have its own ‘micro-narrative’. It should make some sense in isolation.
